Each country has standards that state the acceptable pH range of water for discharge. This is important as having effluent discharge that is too acidic or too alkaline can damage the environment. Wastewater often has different levels of acidity and alkalinity depending on what it was used for. For this reason, pH adjustment is extremely important.

pH Adjustment Inline

pH Adjustment systems measure and adjust the pH of the water to a neutral range or to the desired set point by controlled dosing of an acid or alkaline compound. pH adjustment systems are classified as either continuous or batch systems.

pH Re-Circulation

Continuous systems are normally installed in a re-circulation loop for accurate pH readings and efficient chemical dosing. Alternatively, inline dosing systems with static mixing will also be effective. Enviroconcepts offer modular or skid-mounted systems. Continuous systems uses a process tank, a re-circulation pump, a control system with HMI, chemical dosing pumps, instrument probes, dosing pipework and in some cases a submerged mixer.

A batch system treats a fixed volume of effluent which is only discharged once it meets the set criteria for discharge. Like the continuous system, a batch system has a process tank with submerged mixing or water re-circulation. One of the benefits of the batch system is that no effluent can be discharged until it meets the discharge standards.

Enviro Concepts are able to optimise the systems to best meet your needs. Contact us now to discuss with one of our consultants what options are available for you.
