Oil water separator, oily waterOil Water Separators

Any business that produces oily wastewater, an oil water separation is one of the most effective ways of wastewater treatment and making the water compliant to be discharged to the council sewers. There are two forms of oil found in wastewater. Emulsified oil is oil that has been subjected to some mechanical action before being dispersed into the wastewater. The oil does not float and therefore requires sophisticated techniques to treat it. Non emulsified is a type of oil that floats on the surface of wastewater and can be easily removed by treating the water. Enviro Concepts Oil Water Separator System works with all types of wastewater.

Some of the businesses that require OWS are:

Types of Oil Water Separators

Enviro Concepts offers 4 types of Oil Water Separators:

We also offer a plug and play packaged Oil Water Separator Kit called the SIOS (Solids Interceptor Oil Separator).

Oil Water Separator, Oily Water

Coalescing Plate Separators

A Coalescing Plate Separator is one of our popular OWS where the separation of oil and water occurs when the effluent gravity flows through a series of Coalescing Plate Packs (CPP). This is a cost effective, low maintenance and high performance Oil Water Separator that is capable of removing oil and grease, hydrocarbons and suspended solids from wastewater. For more details, visit the Coalescing Plate Separator page.

Vertical Tube Separator

The Vertical Tube Separator is designed to remove free floating hydrocarbons like oil, diesel and hydraulic fluid as well as suspended solids down to a level of <100 micron particles from wastewater. The system uses Vertical Tube Pack (VTP) technology within the Oil Water Separator. The Tube Separator are available for flow rates from 900 to 14,000 L/H.

Vertical Gravity Separators

Vertical Gravity Separators are designed to enhance the naturally occurring separation between oil and water based on the density difference between oil, suspended solids and water. The VGS is a system in which the inlet and outlet columns form a U-tube configuration in the separator. The free floating oil and low density suspended solids are trapped on the side of the main body or U-tube and the treated water flows out the other side. For more information, visit our VGS page.

Centrifugal Separators or Hydrocyclones

Hydrocyclones Oil Water Separator System uses centrifugal force to separate oil from water. The Hydroclone OWS works by tangentially pumping the oily water into a cone shaped separator. This constant spiral flow creates a spinning vortex and strong centrifugal forces which separates the high density water and solids from low density oil and finer solids. Enviro Concept SIOS Water Treatment Discharge Package

The Solids Interceptor Oil Separator (SIOS) is our complete Oil Water Separator package that comes with a Solids Settling Tank, OWS, ASM Pump and float connection on a skid. This council approved, cost-effective, modular solution for wastewater treatment is one of our highest selling OWS package for compliant discharge to sewer. Download our SIOS specification sheet or read about it in detail on our “Water Treatment Discharge” page.
